London’s best workplaces revealed by The British Council for Offices

We might be biased, but we think having Billi systems in your workplace means it’s a pretty great place to work. It seems like The British Council for offices does too! With 3 of our recent clients making their list of top 6 offices, we’ve clearly got products worth investing in.

According to the facilities management journal, “The BCO Awards programme recognises the highest quality developments in the UK and sets the standard for excellence in the regional and national office sector.”

Who were the winners?

The three Billi clients who made the list were as follows: Boden, Fora and Deloitte. Each earnt their way on the list for something slightly different. So, what did the judges see in these offices that made them stand out?

Best Fit Out of a Workplace

Deloitte HQ – Deloitte’s recent refurbishment has helped ensure efficiency, flexibility and connectivity between colleagues. The office space and subsequent fit out helps enables these key components of a productive workplace. The judges noted ‘the office helps Deloitte attract and retain talent, with improved amenities and smart technology integrated throughout. According to the judging panel, another stand out factor of the building was the sustainability and wellness accreditation, with the project achieving an outstanding BREEAM score and WELL Gold certification.

Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace

Boden Head Office. As a champion of online retail, it makes sense that the Boden office was described by judges as a ‘creative, collaborative hub’. The judges also praised the building that comprises of a single town hall. However, that one hall is formed by combining two buildings, providing Boden with an area where all staff can gather within minutes.  

Innovation

Fora, Borough. Fora focus on thoughtful design and customer service. This, of course, differs slightly from the traditional ‘max output’ focus of most workplaces. The successful Fora project is now being used to benchmark subsequent locations. Now, every Fora delivers “spaces to be brilliant.” The BCO judges praised the ‘openness of the ground floor’, which hosts a café and restaurant and helps to build a community between the office and its neighbourhood.

A Billi Tradition

Last year, another Billi client won the BCO award for being the ‘best of the best’. That building, of course, was the Bloomberg building. Recognised globally for its sustainability and innovation. It seems as though if your office has its sights on making it on the list, a safe bet is to choose Billi… but we can’t make any promises!
